Meet Amber

Hello there! Thank you for visiting my website! I’m Amber Clay, the proud founder of Amber’s Pampered Pets, a pet sitting and dog walking service focused on love, dependability, and trust!

In 2002, I started Amber’s Pampered Pets as I gained valuable experience volunteering at Pet Refuge as a dog handler. Fellow volunteers began requesting that I care for their pets when they went out of town. I eagerly took on the responsibility and absolutely fell in love with it! Taking care of these furry friends and seeing them happy and content sparked a passion within me!

Word quickly spread about my pet care services, and before I knew it, family, friends, and acquaintances were asking me to care for their much loved pets as well. I realized that this was not just a job for me, but a calling. I wanted to provide peace of mind with responsible, loving care for pets when their parents couldn’t be with them.

As both a dog mom and a mom to 3 amazing kids and one wonderful bonus daughter-I’m naturally a bit of a worrier-I totally get the anxiety of leaving your babies with someone else! That protective instinct is exactly why I’ve worked so hard to build a pet care service where you can feel confident and at ease. Every safety measure, every insurance policy, every relationship I build with the independent sitters who work with APP-it all comes from understanding what it feels like to trust someone with the beings you love most. 🩷

My experience at Pet Refuge gave me valuable knowledge in handling dogs with behavioral issues, and I also gained expertise in feline medical procedures, such as administering shots, drawing blood for testing, and microchipping. These skills allowed me to offer a higher level of care and ensure the well-being of every pet under my watch.

In order to provide the best possible care and experience for pets, I have continued to further my education throughout my career. I am proud to hold the Certified Professional Pet Sitter (CPPS®) designation, which recognizes advanced professional knowledge in pet care, safety, and business practices. This certification demonstrates my strong commitment to excellence and to providing reliable, high-quality care for every pet served.

In addition to being passionate about the care of pets, I also pride myself in operating my pet care business with integrity and professionalism.

• APP is a member of the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters and Pet Sitters International.
• We maintain dual full coverage liability insurance by Pet Sitter Associates and Pet Care Insurance at all times for the ultimate peace of mind.
• I consult with Pet Behaviorist and trainer Patty Cope of Patty’s Pack to continue learning about canine behavior and needs.
• Should the need arise, I work closely with a professional, insured private locksmith company.
• I take the time to build genuine relationships with the pet care professionals who provide services through APP and to understand their experience, strengths, and preferences. That personal connection helps me thoughtfully match clients with providers who will care for their pets and homes with kindness, respect, and attention.
